At the moment I am on target with my progression as I have finished the majority of my research within the area of music videos, I have analysed many music videos, this has enabled me to understanding to traditional conventions that are used within a music video. With also doing extra research into the different style of music video you come across within the music industry such as ‘performance and narrative’ it has allowed me to gain a further insight into the production planning stage of a music video.

While researching into the genre pop it has made me broaden my initial ideas that I intended to part take in my own music video. Because of my in-depth research into the pop genre I now have a clear and accurate knowledge and understanding of the common conventions used in the highly most professional music videos , of how to engage and appeal to your chosen target audience not only by the song/lyrics but through the preparation of producing my own music video.

I feel I am prepared to being in the planning stage of my music video, creating things such as storyboards and checklist as well as gaining photos and information of my chosen locations of where I wish to shoot parts of my music video, by doing this it will allow me to go into my production of my music video,knowing I have a clear and structured idea of the style of music video I wish to carry out.
