Feedback From Music Video

I felt that it would be very useful if I was to receive some audience feedback from my chosen target audience in order to see whether I am successfully engaging and appealing to my music video towards them  , and if not they are able to offer suggestion in order for me to adapt aspects within my music video. At this point I am half way through the production of my music video, therefore it allows me plenty of time to change any areas of my music video that aren’t following the conventions.

Examples of feedback:

From the feedback I received which you can see above, I gathered a mixture of responds both on the positive and negative side. 90% of my focus group loved the style and approach I was created in my music video, which was a mixture of Pop/R&B chorography dance performance. Ad they felt I incorptarted at variety of camera angles, making the transitions from one shot to the next very intriguing to watch. Although the majority of my target audience members felt that the lip syncing wasn’t always in time with the backtrack of the song “Royals”, and I felt I should speed up the shots a few seconds in order to make them both in time with one another. In doing these adjustments I hope it will develop and improve the standard of my music video.

Digipac Draft 2

Digipac Draft

After designing my digipac I wasn't entirely happy with my final design of my digipac, as it wasn't they way i had visioned and planned it. Therefore I have challenged myself and created another digipac however come at it with different approach and style.  I have changed some aspects such as the name of the album as well as color scheme . However one thing that has been kept from the original design  is the images used within the album, the reason for this , is i felt the photographs was very appropriate for a digipac as it kept with the conventions of a professional digipac within the music industry. The clarity of the images are at a professional standard. I feel that designing a second digipac was a useful idea as it allows me to receive audience feedback, in sense of how my target audience feel about both digipac and what they feel is most effect and appealing to them from a audiences perspective.

Poster progress

I have chosen to use a different image as my front cover; I know many professional posters often use to show the design on their poster however I want to be slightly different with my design. I have still chosen a photography that enhances my artist facial features and she is dressed in the same costume allowing a sense of connection between my ancillary tasks so that my target audience can associated them with one another making it easily recognisable associating it with my artist.

I have begun to add the other elements that are featured on an advertisement poster such as the text including the artists and album and the date of release, as well as reviews from a magazine company and radio station such as capital radio.  These are important conventions to poster advertisements therefore it is fundamentally important that I incorporate them. I have also placed social networking icon such as twitter and facebook, allowing the audience to follow the artist in her upcoming events and albums.

Digipac Progress

I have begun creating and developing my ancillary tasks over the past couple of weeks for my music video, which consists of both a digipac and an advertisement poster.

This is the stages of progress of my digipac so far:

My background design was encouraged by Madonna “confessions on the dance floor” digipac as she uses colourful vibrant strobe lights fainted in the background. This is very eye-catching a unique from the pain bold colours of pink, therefore I want to adapt this style of background to make it my on however following the use of the effective lighting used. I feel like the design I imagine will attract my target audience members of teenagers and young adults.

Back cover:

Original Photo

which enabled me to get starlight effect which I felt was eye catching and pleasing to the I , it very abstract pattern was slightly too dark , therefore I had to adjust the brightness and exposure of the image to enhance my artists facial features .

I have added the font to the back cover , using EOS typeface , I have also added the tradtional conventions of the the digipacsuch as copying and pasting the bar code and , company logo. I have also included my artists wesbite in order for promotional purposes.

Inside Left Panel:

I have used one main image of Phoebe which expresses the style and star image of the album and the artist. Portraying her as a sophisticated, sassy persona and highlighting her beauty. For my inside left panel I have chosen to have the lyrics of the featured song “Royals” published inside the album cover. I have positioned the lyrics around the body outline of my artist on the Right hand side in aligned text in order to make it easy for my audience to read and follow. I used the traditional that is offered used to print text ‘Black’ as on a darker background like mine, it stands out increasing the readers readability, using to many colour can often distract the audience from the content of the text, in this case the lyrics of the song.
