Media A2 Introduction
My name is Lauren Smith.
This current Media Blog contains all my media A2 coursework in
order to meet the criteria to receive my finial A2 grade
Last year for AS level Media I produced both a preliminary task of
a school magazine and my main task of creating a music magazine, including a
front cover, double page spread all designed and created with a genre of my own
personal choice. I experienced learning and developing new skills within the
media course, such as in-depth planning and research in counted within my
magazine. I used new programmes and software to help my through my creation of
my magazine such as Adobe photoshop and InDesign.
This year for my media A2 coursework we have been given the choice
of either to create and music video or horror teaser trailer. After seeing the
criteria’s of both tasks, I personally felt that the music video was the best
option for me as I am largely interested in the music industry, therefore I had
a base knowledge of what was expected of a professional, successful music video
that appeal to a target audience. I also felt that I would be able to broaden
my skills and ability of media as a Whole.
For the coursework I must produce the following
A promotional package for the release of an album. This must
include:
1. A music promo video.
2. A cover for the album's release on Digipac.
3. A magazine advertisement for the Digipac.
I already have a variety of ideas that I would love to incorporate into my music video. However whether they will suit my chosen genre and look appeal I will find out in my later process of filming and editing. I will have to research the typical conventions of a music video within the media trade. For the filming process I will use a Canon EOS 1100D camera with an adjustable lens up to 18-55mm. This will enable be to get a clear, sharp images and shots for my music video. And will edit them of programmers such as movie maker and Adobe premiere, which again is high tech software that gives me a variety of ways to produce and create my music video to be the highest standard as possible.
